Protix video: how we do it

Since 2019, Protix has been producing insect ingredients at its fully operational industrial-scale plant in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands. This facility leads the way as the first and only reliable producer of high-quality insect ingredients.

Experience our circular process from the moment we feed organic waste — such as leftovers from French fry production and other fruits and vegetables — to our black soldier fly larvae. These insects are then processed into proteins and lipids, which our customers use as premium ingredients for animal feed and pet food. Residual insect streams are utilised as organic fertiliser.

Since its foundation in 2009, Protix has developed cost-effective, scalable operations that use our planet's resources efficiently. Our state-of-the-art production features an ultra-efficient, climate-controlled vertical farm, requiring very little water or space. It also includes highly efficient processing to create ingredients. And this factory is just the beginning of future production sites!
